Business Systems & Process Automation · Ontario

When the process lives in someone's head, your business is one person deep.

I work with small businesses in trades and manufacturing to replace the spreadsheets, paper trails, and workarounds holding their teams back — with systems their people can actually run.

You don't need to have it figured out before reaching out. That's usually the first thing we do together.

About

I came at this from the user side — and I never left

"The fastest way to find what's broken in a system is to try to explain it to someone who's never used it before."

I'm Stephanie, founder of Liminal North. I spent years in corporate — knowledge management, training, and enablement — before realizing the problems I kept solving weren't unique to big companies. Small businesses have the same broken processes. They just have less margin for it.

That background gave me something most systems people don't have: I understand how things break from the user's side. To train people on a process you have to document it. To document it you have to test it. Testing finds everything that doesn't hold up — and someone has to go fix it. I've been the person who had to make a broken system explainable. I know what a bad handoff looks like because I've been on the receiving end of one.

What that means for you: I build around how your team actually works, not how a process is supposed to work on paper. I scope it, build it, and hand it off with documentation that holds — and the goal is always that you don't need me after.

Based in Ontario — working with clients across Canada.

What changes

What your business looks like after

Your process lives in the system, not someone's head

Right now, if the person who knows how things work is unavailable, things stall. What I build is documented and followable by anyone on your team — no tribal knowledge required.

Your team stops working around their tools

The manual steps, the double-entry, the "just ask so-and-so" — replaced with something that does the work consistently, without someone having to remember every step.

You see it before it's built

I'll put something in front of you early — a prototype you can react to, not a description of what might be possible. Nothing gets built until you've said "yes, that's it."

No surprises on scope or cost

People don't know everything they need until they start seeing it take shape. I expect that, build it into my pricing, and welcome it. There are no change orders for a more complete solution.

Services

What I build with you

Workflow & Process Automation

Map what's actually happening, find the friction, and replace it with something that runs — without people having to remember every step or chase down the same information twice.

Custom Business Application Development

Tools built around your specific workflow — not a generic product you have to bend your process to fit. Scoped, designed, and delivered end to end.

Works With What You Already Use

I build around your existing tools — not around what's easiest for me. If your team already lives in a platform, that's where we start. No forced migrations, no new software for the sake of it.

Requirements Definition & Project Scoping

Don't know exactly what you need? That's fine — and normal. I'll work with you to define the problem clearly and show you something real before we build anything.

Documentation & User Training Materials

Every project includes documentation your team can actually follow. The knowledge lives in the system — not with whoever built it or whoever's been there the longest.

No Vendor Agenda

I don't have a preferred platform or a reseller relationship to protect. The tool is always chosen to fit the process — not the other way around.

How it works

From conversation to working system

You don't arrive with a requirements document. I ask the right questions, show you something real early, and build in phases so you're not waiting months for value.

01

We figure out what you actually need

I ask about how things work today — not how they're supposed to work. The gaps between those two things are usually where the real problem lives.

02

I show you something real

Before anything gets built, I put a prototype or concept in front of you. You react to something concrete — not a written description of what might be possible.

03

We agree on scope and price

Once you've seen what we're building and said "yes, that's it," I propose a phased plan with clear pricing. You know exactly what you're getting before the real build starts.

04

I build it in phases

Phased delivery means you get something working fast and build on it. Changes along the way are expected — people don't know everything they need until they see it taking shape.

05

You get the system and the docs

Every handoff includes documentation your team can follow without calling me. The goal is that you don't need me after — and that the system keeps working when you grow.

A note on scope creep: I don't charge for it. Big shops issue change orders every time a requirement evolves — I build that into my pricing from the start. A more complete solution isn't scope creep. A completely different problem is a new conversation.

Work with me

Tell me what's not working

Fill in what you know. You don't need to have the solution figured out — most people don't when they first reach out, and that's exactly where we start.

I'll review what you send and get back to you within 2 business days to set up a conversation.
